Nobody doubts the beneficial effects of rice for health. It is an essential element in our diet, but above all, it is an invitation to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Rice has a universal character, it has travelled the whole world thanks to its nutritional value and its unmistakable flavour, but it is associated in its own right with the Mediterranean culture. The restaurant El Puerto, in the town of Torrevieja, is an establishment specialised in paella<\/strong><\/a>, one of those places with marine decoration and sea views that makes us remember how delicious it is to share a table with friends or family. Nobody seems to have time now to have a pleasant conversation or enjoy a moment of calm. We do not even have time to eat. Now we use pre-cooked products, fast food establishments, and that often makes us forget the importance of the artisan dish, the dish made with dedication. In the kitchen, as in any other activity, you have to pay a little patience and care. And above all, a lot of love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n El Puerto Restaurant, with its experience, cordial treatment and fresh and top quality products, gives us that little miracle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n El Puerto puts special care in the selection and elaboration of its ingredients, all of the local origin, faithful guardians of the rich tradition of Mediterranean cuisine. We speak of the \u00f1ora of Guardamar del Segura, of the bomb rice or the products, already classic, of the vegetable garden of the Vega Baja, like the artichoke of Almorad\u00ed. There is also no lack of fresh seafood, mussels, octopus, and that obligatory reference, the tasty anchovy from the Bay of Torrevieja. But none of this would be possible without the homemade fish stock, bases that do not contain additives or dyes, or saffron, that point of light and flavour essential in any paella<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Our menu<\/p>\n <\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n El Puerto receives many customers every day, has its support and approval but has also received other distinctions to its work as in “The best of gastronomy”<\/a>, held at IFA Alicante in 2011 or the First National Paella Contest “Ciudad de Torrevieja” in 2015. They are not idle distinctions, they reward a trajectory of many years, of effort and constant concern. But El Puerto looks beyond. In addition to traditional paella and its various variations, already classic in their menus, it continues to investigate to find new techniques, flavours or textures that surprise its guests.
